U.S WWII era military bolt action rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield, manufactured circa 1943. Serial number on dates the rifle to December, 1943, the barrel is stamped 'R.A. 9-43' which is a September, 1943 barrel manufacture date. Featuring a full parkerized finish, 24" barrel, protected blade front sight, adjustable peep rear sight mounted to receiver, bayonet lug, stripper clip guide cut into receiver, turned-down bolt handle, smooth curved trigger, flag type manual safety, and magazine cut-off switch. The walnut furniture consists of a smooth 'Type C' pistol grip buttstock, smooth handguard, sling swivel on rear barrel band, sling swivel on the bottom of the buttstock, stacking swivel, butt trap with hinged cover, and checkered flat steel buttplate. Many of the parts are stamped 'R,' including the end cap, bolt parts, and the front sight protector. The stock has visible 'P' cartouches on the pistol grip, and 'BA-JPL' in a box on the left side of the buttstock. Retains approximately 95% of its original parkerized finish with light edge wear, and minor blemishes. The metal displays rust at the muzzle. The furniture wood is very good with minor scratches and dents, and there are some black spots on the top and right side of the buttstock. Action is smooth and crisp, and all markings are crisp and clear. The bore is mostly bright with rust at the muzzle, and the rifling shows wear.
