Lot 625 Smith & Wesson K-38 'Target Masterpiece' .38 Spl #

‘Pre-Model 14,’ an American made medium frame double action revolver chambered in .38 Special, manufactured circa 1950 in Springfield, MA. Revolver features a gloss blued finish, 6” pinned barrel with serrated sighting rib, pinned & raised partridge front sight, micrometer adjustable rear sight, non-shrouded ejector rod, fluted six-shot cylinder, color-case serrated and curved anti-backlash trigger with adjustable stop, firing pin on hammer nose, color-case hammer, checkered hammer spur, five screw square butt 'K' target frame, six grove grip straps, and checkered magna grips with silver S&W medallions (not original). Matching serial numbers found on the frame, barrel, cylinder, and extractor star. Revolver retains approximately 98% of its original finish showing superficial scratches, and very light edge wear. Metal displays no rust or deformation. The action is smooth and crisp with a tight lock up. The bore is bright with strong rifling, and the cylinder chambers are also excellent. Wood grips are excellent with nothing remarkable.
