NVSN. Single-Shot Rifle. manufactured by W.W. Greener in Birmingham, Imported by S.A.C. Corp. of Ridgefield, N.J. ( Service Armament Co.), active in the 1950's & 60's. Classic Martini-Henry falling block action. High polished blue finish with case colored action. The right of the receiver is marked “S.A.C. Co. RIDGEFIELD, N.J.”, the left is marked “W.W. GREENER LTD. / BIRMINGHAM / ENGLAND”. The receiver is marked with a Birmingham nitro proof. 23 1/2" tapered barrel with raised Redfield blade front sight, Redfield Olympic model fully adjustable rear aperture sight installed on the left receiver. Nicely figured high gloss stocks with checkered panels on the wrist & forearm, Browning solid rubber recoil pad, buttstock has been spliced into the wrist, professionally done, barely noticeable. the. Receiver has floral/scroll engraving. The bore is excellent/bright, the action is smooth, the blue & case colors are very good with some minor scratches and the wood is overall excellent. NOTE* Consigner states this is chambered .30-40, we chambered a .30-40 round and it seemed slightly loose in the chamber, we recommend having it checked with a competent gunsmith before firing just to be on the safe side.
