^Lot 489 Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 17 .22 LR #K15240

Also known as the K-22 Masterpiece (Pre-Model 17) Double Action Revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle manufactured circa 1947 in the United States. Built on a square butt K frame 3 screw target frame. It features a blued finish, fluted 6 shot counterbored cylinder, checkered wood target style grips with S&W medallions, cut down 4" ribbed pinned barrel, pinned raised ramp front sight, adjustable rear sight, serrated grip straps, serrated case colored curved grooved wide trigger, and case colored medium wide hammer with checkered checkered hammer spur. Bore is dirty, but appears bright with strong rifling. The revolver retains about 75% finish with fading along the barrel, and scattered scratches. The grips are good with a little wear to the points, some edge wear, and handling dents. Action is smooth and tight. Serial number matched on heel, extractor star, cylinder, grip panel, and barrel.
