A 12 gauge boxlock game gun with 32" dark blue round nitro proved steel barrels, a tapered machined concave game rib and a steel bead front sight. The rib is roll stamped "W.W. GREENER MAKER. 40 PALL MALL, LONDON WORKS. BIRMINGHAM". Lower tang marked "Empire Model". Proved for 2 3/4" shells and choked full & full. The action body is engraved with fine border scrolls with case color hardened finish. Both sides of the action body are marked "W.W. GREENER" near actions water table. The action is fit with a cross bolt fastener, double triggers, dark blue top lever with left side thumb piece checkered and side safety, single extractor. Best quality walnut stock with round knob 'Prince of Wales" grip, checkered splinter forearm with ebony insert, vacant stock oval, 14-1/2" LOP. serrated hard rubber buttplate. All matching serial numbers, Birmingham proofs and "Elephant" Trademarks. The bores are excellent/bright, barrels lock-up tight, case colors are about 75% with handling wear, the wood is very good with minor scratches and the blue id about 945 with light handling wear/scratches. Production ended in 1965, the serial number puts this shotgun's manufacture in 1956.
