Lot 281 Winchester Model 1894 .32 W.S. #418942

American made lever action rifle chambered in .32 Winchester Special manufactured circa 1908 in New Haven, CT. Featuring a blued 20" round barrel, cut-down 2/3 length magazine tube, ramped dovetailed blade/bead front sight, rear sight removed, top eject, grip safety, Exposed hammer with checkered spur, and smooth curved trigger. The hardwood furniture consists of a smooth straight gripped buttstock, smooth forend with steel nose cap, compass inlet in the right side of the stock, and smooth steel crescent buttplate. Bore is dirty, but looks good with strong rifling. The original blued finish retained on the barrel and magazine tube is approximately 80% showing edge wear, thinning, and scattered scratches and blemishes. Receiver, lever, trigger, forend nose cap look to be finished in-the-white, and have light rust scatterd throughout, and scattered scratches and scuffs. The metal surface condition, in general, displays scattered rust. There is also some red paint on the front sight blade. Furniture condition is good, and may have been re-finished. The wood has small scratches and blemishes throughout with a large dent on the bottom of the forend. There's thinning finish on the forend, and a crack starting on the forend just in front of the receiver. The action is smooth and crisp.
