'Take Down' Early production rifle manufactured circa 1901. Features 26" octagon barrel, full length magazine tube, dovetailed Marbles No. 3 blade front sight, buckhorn rear sight, smooth walnut forend & straight wristed buttstock, steel crescent buttplate. Bore is fair to good condition, dark grooves, lightly frosted throughout, strong rifling. Barrel and magazine surfaces are mostly gray mixed with about 20% blue, smooth textured, with mostly gray patina color on receiver, some darker color blue retained in small areas. Areas of light pinprick patina across the receiver. Bare metal on mag tube where it slides forward during takedown. Wood isoverall very good condition, no chips or cracks, minor scratches/dings. Included factory letter confirms this rifle caliber, octagon barrel. Does not list take-down and lists sights as "Lyman front, leaf and rear cup. All Winchester markings are clear/readable.
