Limited edition commemorative lever action repeating rifle celebrating Lakota warrior Chief Crazy Horse. Chambered in .38-55 Winchester and manufactured circa 1983 with only 19,999 reported to have been produced. Chief Crazy Horse is one of the most notable Native American warriors, he fought in several important battles of the Black Hills War including the Battle of the Little Bighorn where he led his party to victory. Configuration: blued 24" round barrel, full-length magazine tube, dovetailed blade/bead front sight, elevation adjustable rear sporting sight, smooth trigger, serrated hammer spur, saddle ring, roll stamp engraved Chief Crazy Horse scenes on the case hardened receiver, brass tacked smooth deluxe walnut semi-beavertail forend with satin finish, metal forend cap with integral sling lug, and straight grip shoulder stock with brass tack decor, curved metal buttplate & inlayed commemorative medallion on the right side. Rifle exhibits approximately 90% original finish showing scattered light surface rust with some handling wear. Action is crisp, the bore is very good and the wood stocks have minor scratches/dings, some finish loss, there is dried glue and two tacks on the left buttstock where some sort of plaque was affixed. Black nylon sling attached.
