Lot 255 Browning B-S/S 20 Ga #01445RP168
Assembled in Korea with Japanese parts, the Browning BSS is a 'field grade' box-lock side-by-side shotgun chambered for 3" 20 Gauge shells. Manufactured circa 1978, and imported by Browning Arms Company out of Morgan, UT., and Montreal P.Q. Featuring a blued finish, 28" solid ribbed barrels, ejectors, barrels are marked for Mod / Imp Cyl, single curved gold-toned trigger, checkered top lever, brass bead front sight, checkered barrel selector behind trigger, and serrated sliding tang safety. The walnut furniture consists of a straight grip shoulder stock with checkering at the wrist, a checkered forend with a deeley latch release, 14" length-of-pull, 1-9/16" drop at comb, 2-1/4" drop at heel, and a Browning black plastic buttplate. The receiver, trigger guard, and top lever display limited coverage of scrolls, floral designs, and edge engravings. The original blued finish remaining is approximately 96% with a few light scattered scratches on the barrel by the receiver, and some along the barrel. The furniture wood is very good with light scattered scratches and handling marks on the buttstock with the forend showing little to no blemishes. The metal displays no deformation, but there are a few scattered light spots of rust on the top of the barrel by the receiver, and a tiny spot on the bottom of the rib. The bore is bright and shiny, and the action is smooth and crisp. This shotgun would be 'Very Good' if there was no observed rust. Shotgun includes original black cardboard factory box.
