Lot 231 Colt Single Action Army .44 Spl #SA38184

'Third Generation' of the classic Single Action Army revolver, 'Model of 1873,' chambered for .44 Special, manufactured circa 1984 in Hartford, CT. Featuring a high luster nickel finish, 4-3/4" barrel, checkered hammer spur, fixed blade front sight, notched frame rear sight, firing pin on hammer nose, fluted six-round cylinder, collard cylinder pin head, bird's head style ejector, and black plastic checkered "eagle" grips with embossed eagle and Rampant Colt logo. There is a two-line patent date marking on the left side of the frame. The original nickel finish retained is approximately 99% with only superficial scratches and blemishes. Metal displays no rust or deformation. Bore is bright with strong rifling, and the cylinder chambers are also excellent. Grips are excellent, and the action is smooth and crisp with a good lock-up. The front sight is loose.
