Nickel plated single-action spur-triggered 5-shot revolver with a 2-1/2" ribbed octagon barrel, top barrel rib marked "E.REMINGTON & SONS. ILION.N.Y. PAT. W.S.SMOOT. OCT.21.1873", Approximately 3,000 No. 1 Revolvers were produced between 1875 and 1877, putting this revolver around early 1876. Case-colored hammer and trigger and checkered hard rubber grips.. Serial number is stamped under the left grip panel. The nickel finish is about 90% with minor scratches/flaking, mostly on the cylinder. The bore is dark/rough. Bird's head grip panels are in immaculate condition. Action works well with good lock-up. Remington markings are crisp.
