Lot 208 Colt 1849 Pocket .31 Cal #146596
Civil War era antique single action six-shot percussion revolver cambered for .31 caliber ammunition, circa 1858. Features a 6" octagon barrel with "ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY " two line address, brass bead front sight, 'v' notched rear sight on the hammer, non-fluted cylinder with roll stamped stagecoach holdup scene, loading lever, smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur, brass grip frame and one-piece walnut grip. Markings are good/clear except the cylinder scene is mostly gone. All serial numbers are matching, including the wedge & loading lever. Left frame stamped "Colts Patent", left trigger guard stamped "V". Revolver shows the metal surfaces turned to a nice aged grey patina with some scattered brown tones. The timing is a little off on the cylinder, rotates Intermittently, the hand & cylinder stop appear to work well. Nipples are good, bore is fair, rifling present, mat improve withcleaning and the wood grip is overall good, has a chip out of the lower right side, has been varnished at some point. the wedge screw head is marred.
