Antique double/single action revolver manufactured 1879. "Etched Panel. Sheriff or Storekeepers model with 3 1/2" barrel, not fitted with an ejector rod and has an elongated knurled cylinder pin that can be utilized to extract spent cartridges. The top of the barrel has the correct short barrel address in two-lines reading "COLT'S PT. F.A.MFG CO/HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.", the etched panel "COLT. D.A. 38" is on the left side of the barrel. Features a nickel finish, blued hammer, fixed sights, solid frame with side loading gate, bird's head grip frame, checkered black colored gutta percha grips with rampant colt logo. Bore is overall good, bright with strong rifling, has scattered areas of very light pitting. Cylinder charge holes are very good condition. Nickel refinish is about 96% with minor scratches/flaking, bright nitre blue visible on the trigger & screws. Grips are very good condition, slight wear, no visible cracks. Colt markings are sharp/clear. Serial number match on frame, triggerguard and grip frame. Assembly number on loading gate is "703". mechanically excellent.
