Lot 199a Remington Rand M1911A1 .45 ACP #2424323
U.S Military WWII era semi-automatic single action pistol chambered for .45 ACP, manufactured circa 1945. Pistol features blued refinish, 5" barrel, fixed blade front sight, dovetailed notched rear sight, stamped solid checkered curved trigger, smooth grip safety, left side frame mounted manual safety, checkered push-button magazine release, short single-piece metal guide rod, checkered recoil spring plug, smooth front strap, serrated arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop, and reinforced checkered brown plastic grips. Markings include, "REMINGTON RAND" with address on the slides left side. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", and "M1911A1 US ARMY" is marked on the right side of the frame, "P" behind mag button, "FJA" below slide stop, "8" and "U' and "H" on trigger guard. Faint partial crossed cannons on the right side of the frame. The blued refinish retained is approximately 97% with a few light scattered scratches, and the heaviest scratches on the left side of the slide where the dust cover would rub. Metal displays no rust or deformation, but you can tell where some of the old blemishes were before refinishing. These blemishes may be from war time use. Bore is bright with strong rifling, and the grips are very good with a low spot on the checkering by the bottom screw of the left grip panel. The action is smooth and crisp.
