^Lot 198 Prop Sword from "Prince Valiant" Movie.

Epic movie starring Robert Wagner. Included is a photographic black and white archive of stills that feature this sword in most every major scene along with other stills that are important to the plot (70+ total with reproductions of comic strip featuring "the singing sword" after which this sword was patterned. The Prince Valiant comic strip is the longest running comic of all time and is still published in major newspapers today. Joe Musso, award winning movie artist, considered the artwork "the best" and was a lifetime fan of the series. Mr. Musso included this prop in his private museum until 2022 when sold to a fellow collector in So. California. This prop sword measures 43 overall constructed of light wood, faux jewels and is painted to appear leather wrapped. A false blade and aluminum blade are included. One faux diamond is missing from the pommel and otherwise condition is good. An iconic prop from the 1954 production that launched Robert Wagner to stardom. Also few weapons if any have ever been featured in so much "air time" in any major Hollywood production. The sword starred in most every scene!
