Lot 189 W.W. Greener Double Rifle of London.

In 450-400, 3 1/4" cal with exposed hammers, serial # 55374. 26" bbls and 43" overall. Heavy construction with Greener type cross bolt and re-enforced extensions extending past the checkering into the stock that are checkered and engraved. 4-leaf sight on bbl graduated to 300 yards, sling swivels, trap in stock contains extra original small parts. The bbl's retain 50-60% thinning blue and frame shows silvery case-colors with some rainbows. Behind the hammers and on the tang. The bores are satiny and gun locks uptight. The stock shows good figuring to buttstock and superb repair to wrist with matching engraving we believe by Greener or an equal London maker. The forend is unfortunately missing the metal collar that meets the frame at the back edge. There is a thin splinter of wood missing to top right rear edge that was smoothed down and lightly refinished with the entire forend (1/16-1/32 by 2 1/2"). The metal release catch is retained but screws are missing. A canvas covered original case with greener trade label is included. Case is only fair with hardware removed. Great express labels from shippers in Bombay also P.S.M. owner's initials stenciled on top. The metal was lost when forend was repaired. Worth restoring. From the Bill Ruger Collection.
NRA good overall. Antique Firearm.
