Lot 170 DWM 1906 Luger. 'Royal Portuguese Army' . 7.65mm
SN: 3610. German made "M2" Luger by DWM. 1906 Pattern Luger adopted as Model 1909 by Portuguese Royal Army, 7.65mm Parabellum (.30 Cal. Luger) Toggle Action Semi-Auto, Removable Magazine. 4 3/4" barrel. The full serial number “3610” is found on the front of the frame and the bottom-rear of the barrel. The lower-left of the breech-block, bottom of the front toggle link, back of the rear toggle link, bottom of the takedown lever, bottom of the sideplate, side of the grip safety and the bottom of the barrel-extension’s indexing lug are each marked with partial SN “10”. The inside of the left grip panel is also marked "10”, inside of right panel is marked "A" & "R" in circles. A triangle in circle Portuguese proof is marked on the bottom-rear of the barrel, left-front of the barrel extension and the rear of the frame. The top of the front toggle is marked “DWM”. The top of the chamber ring is marked with crowned “M2” mongram (King Manuel II). The finish is blued. The trigger, locking bolt, safety, ejector and the right side of the magazine release have a straw-colored finish. The bore is excellent/bright, strong rifling, action is smooth, grips are very good with slight wear , the blue finish is about 755 with holster/handling wear, minor scratches and the straw is about 305 from handling. Included with the lot is a Portuguese military pattern black leather flap holster with army arsenal stamp "A.E" (Arsenal de Ejercito) on the rear, containing a combination oiler/cleaning rod, pin punch is missing. Inside of flap contains a take-down tool stamped with imperial German proof.
