Lot 167 Pair of 18th Cent. Style Flintlock Pistols.

High quality, by Caywood Arms Company and cased by "The Trunk Shop" of Crawford, Colorado at a cost of $1000 just for the case in 2004. This pair were formerly in the collection of legendary gun manufacturer and arms collector Bill Ruger and inherited by his grandson in Prescott, Arizona, who recently passed away. The pair measure 13" overall with 7 1/4" 2 stage barrels with ringed cannon type muzzles of about .45 cal rifled. The styling is mid 18th century French in design. Finely engraved gold gilt on brass mounts showing florals with stands of arms. Blued metal with fire blued screws. Nicely stocked showing a select grain and stripping. The condition is fine to excellent with little to no use. Caywood Arms Co. in Berryville, Arkansas, are known for fine quality custom and semi-custom black powder arms.
