'USGI' American made semi-automatic single-action pistol chambered for .45 Automatic Colt Pistol, manufactured circa 1918 in Hartford, CT. This Colt Government Model features a blued finish, 5" barrel, fixed blade front sight, dovetailed notched rear sight, solid smooth curved trigger, checkered thumb safety mounted on the left side of the frame, checkered recoil spring plug, smooth front strap, checkered push-button magazine release, smooth flat mainspring housing, smooth grip safety, lanyard ring on heel, and two-piece checkered wood grips with diamond cuts around the screws. The left side of the slide is marked “PATENTED APR.20.1897. SEPT.9.1902 / DEC.19,1905. FEB.14.1911. AUG.19,1913,” and “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.”. The original blued finish retained is approximately 5% with almost no bluing left. Metal displays no deformation, but shows a large amount of patina, and some scattered minor pin-prick pitting. Bore is slightly frosty with decent rifling, and the wood grips are good and serviceable with well worn checkering. The action is smooth and crisp. This pistol includes one magazine total, and a U.S. government leather holster.
