Lot 160 Walther HP 9mm #8100

German WW2 era semi-automatic pistol. 8 rd Magazine. 4.9" barrel. Short recoil, hinged locking piece assisted breechblock .Commercial version of the P38. About 25-30,000 produced. (1939-1945) "Heeres Pistole". Walther banner, address, (Zella-Mehlis)caliber, and Mod. HP marked on the left slide. Eagle/N commercial proofs. Matching serial numbers on the Barrel, frame. and locking block. Bore is very good/bright, some darkness in the grooves, Walther brown P38 bakelite grips are very good. Blued finish is about 80% with holster wear, handling wear on the front strap, action is smooth. Magazine is unmarked. Comes with a period black leather holster, rear stamped with Large "P-38" and feint waffenamt Eagle/WaW883. (Clemen & Jung, Solingen). Inside of flap marked with German soldiers name " Ogefr. Willmann(Senior Corporal-Obergefreiter) and GI who "liberated it" "Johnny Pacigga", Service number "R0346". Very good condition.
