Lot 156 Nagoya Arsenal Type 2 Paratroop Rifle 7.7mm #13952
Rare Japanese military take-down rifle, estimated production of about 19,000. It features a 25.5" barrel, inverted 'V' front sight with protector ears, aperture rear sight with flip-up elevator ladder & anti-aircraft wings, no cleaning rod, side mounted sling swivels, smooth curved trigger, straight bolt handle, manual safety, hinged floorplate, and takedown screw on right side of action. Bore is dark with strong rifling. The original blued finish has turned brown. The metal condition is good other than the brown patina, the edges are sharp, no heavy wear areas, screw slots are good, and the receiver ring still maintains the chrysanthemum. Wood is in good condition with original finish, cut down forend, normal handling wear, but there is a residue on the buttstock. Butt join is excellent with barely visible line. Markings are crisp & deep. Assembly number "967" is visible on several parts. Matching bolt numbered "952" on the bolt handle, firing pin, safety knob, and extractor.
