Serial number indicates manufactured October,1940. Barrel is marked with "P" on the side and with a drawing number, Marlin, following by a flaming bomb. This indicates it was arsenal re-barreled post WW2 when the government ordered 50,000 barrels from Marlin for the Korean War effort. "D28290-5-SA" on the side of the trigger group. hammer marked C46008-5 SA, triggerguard marked C-46026-1 SA, op rod marked 6536382 Sa, receiver marked C 16 B 6 and D 28291-SA and the bolt is marked D28287-12 SA B3. Features parkerized finish, wood stock & hand guards, 24" barrel, adjustable sights with protected front blade & protected rear peep marked "DRC" (Drug Brothers Manufacturing Company), fixed magazine for en-bloc clip, manual safety in triggerguard , no cartouches visible on the stock. Bore is very good/bright, strong rifling. Metal parts retain about 90% parkerized finish shows edge losses & handling marks on the barrel. Wood is good/sound with the usual minor scratches/dings. Correct USGI green web sling attached.
