High quality bolt action rifle manufactured by J.P Sauer out of West Germany in 1971. Imported by Weatherby from South Gate, CA. Rifle features a gloss blued finish, 24" tapered barrel, scope rail sections mounted to receiver, no provisions for iron sights, serrated curved trigger, hinged floorplate, 3 lug fluted bolt, serrated bolt mounted manual safety, plum colored bolt shroud, and turned down bolt handle. The fancy figured walnut furniture consists of a Monte Carlo style stock with checkering at the wrist, right handed shadow line cheek piece with tall comb, wood grip cap with white diamond and white spacer, checkered forend, contrasting wood forend tip with white spacer, sling studs on shoulder stock and forend, and a brown ventilated rubber recoil pad with white and black spacers. The original gloss blue metal finish retained is approximately 98% with light blemishes and scratches. The metal displays small spots of rust on the sling studs, left receiver rail, and on the barrel. There was no observed metal deformation. Bore is bright with strong rifling, and the hardwood furniture is in good condition with small dings, and light scratches. The action is smooth and crisp.
