Lot 90 Browning SA-22 'Grade II' .22 LR #T20806
Belgian made 'Grade II' semi-automatic rimfire take-down rifle chambered for .22 Long Rifle, and manufactured between the late 1950's and the early 1960's. Rifle has a gloss blued finished barrel with a French gray steel receiver. It features an early 19-1/4" tapered barrel, dovetailed fixed blade front sight, early adjustable wheel style rear sight, smooth curved gold-toned trigger, checkered cross-bolt manual safety at the front of the trigger guard, and loading port in the shoulder stock. The deluxe hardwood furniture consists of a semi-pistol gripped stock with fine checkering at the wrist, a fine checkered semi-beavertail forend, and a quick/partial loading port on the right side of the shoulder stock. The receiver is hand engraved with coverage of oak scrolls with a water foul on top of the receiver, two squirrels on the left side of the receiver, and two prairie dogs on the right side of the receiver. The original blued finish retained is approximately 99% with superficial blemishes, and light edge wear. The receiver has lost some of the "French Gray" iodized finish, and is showing more patina. Metal displays no rust, or deformation. The hardwood furniture is in very good to excellent condition with minor scratches, storage blemishes, and a small mark on the forend checkering. The action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright with strong rifling.
