Lot 3506 2 EUROPEAN OR RUSSIAN SWORDS

1) A Russian or Eastern European sword measuring 39" overall with an etched pipe back blade having cyrillic markings near the hilt. Etched decoration is primarily foliate motifs. The semi-basket non-ferrous hilt features a 2-headed eagle cutout decorating the guard and 3 branches joining the knuckle bow. Lion head pommel with composite grip with a plated iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a gray patina with minor pitting. Hilt is misshaped and the grip is broken. Scabbard has lost most of its plating. 2) An Imperial German sword likely from Prussia measuring 38 1/2" overall with a plain unmarked double fullered blade. Brass hilt with afolding eagle guard featuring a Prussian eagle. Canted grip with a royal cipher on the front. Iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows ample original factory polish and the guard shows light wear. Scabbard has areas of plating loss. (02-26133/BF). NON-GUN. $200-400.
