Lot 3491 EARLY STYLE GERMAN FLAMBERGE BROADSWORD.
A well made early style German flamberge broadsword likely produced during the in the mid-19th century following a pattern from the 12th century. The sword measures 42 3/4" overall with a 34" double edged undulating blade. The down turned cross guard is 10" long and has twisted melon terminals. Leather covered wooden grip with Turk's head knots above and below. Large twisted melon pommel. CONDITION: light wear overall with wear and good patina on the hilt. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis. (02-24730/BF). NON-GUN. $500-800.
