^Lot 3425 UNMARKED FRENCH GENDARME FLINTLOCK PISTOL.

Cal. 65 Smoothbore. NSN. Bbl. 5 7/16". French Gendarme (Heavy Cavalryman) flintlock pistol produced by an unknown mfg. Pistol is devoid of any identifying markings or proofs. Iron lockplate, hammer, sideplate, bbl., bbl. band, trigger guard, and pommel. 1-piece plain wood stock. Complete with a period iron ramrod. CONDITION: metal components have been cleaned at one time, exhibiting a mottled gray patina, with light to mild surface oxidation and pitting present overall. Hammer screw has sheared just below the head, with the remainder of the screw remaining in the lockplate. Stock shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with a crack running from the sideplate to the bbl. band on the left side.
