Lot 3331 BRIDESBURG NEEDHAM CONVERSION RIFLE.

Cal. 58 CF. NSN. Bbl. 36 3/4". Blade front sight. Leaf rear sight. Bridesburg musket converted to breechloader These breechloaders were famously used by the Fenians during their attempted invasions of Canada. Lock has mostly visible "BRIDESBURG" marking. No other discernable markings on metal. Hardwood stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. Front swivel is bent and has metal inventory tag. Tulip shaped ramrod present. CONDITION: stock has older added finish with a large chip missing behind hammer, further scattered chipping, dings, finish loss & handling marks. Metal is a dull gray patina with old oxidation throughout, some dings, pitting & handling marks. Action appears functional when hand cycled. Bore shows scattered pitting but good rifling.
