Framed print portrait of Samuel Colt, originally engraved by George Catlin printed on paper applied to a cardboard sheet. Below the portrait exhibits "Atlantic Publishing & Engraving Co New York" above Samuel Colt's signature. Print is housed within a gold colored oval frame, with framer's label "WOODWARD & LOTHROP,/ ART PICTURES/ AND PICTURE FRAME/ DEPT., WASHINGTON, D.C."on rear. Frame measures 14 3/4" tall and 11 3/4" wide. CONDITION: portrait is good, showing some age related discoloration, as well as some staining along the edges. Frame shows some scattered handling marks and small surface level chips, with a taped repair present at the top of the paper on the rear. (02-25595/MLW). NON-GUN. $50-150.
