Lot 3207 EUROPEAN RING HAMMER PERCUSSION RIFLE.

Cal. 58. NSN. Bbl. 31 1/4" rnd. Brass blade front sight. Fixed v-notch rear sight. European ring hammer percussion rifle that appears similar to the Danish model 1849 pistol. Lock appears to be marked with crown "CP" proof. Rear of bbl. & left rear of stock both marked "211/69". Walnut stock set with later White Line rubber buttpad. Replacement button tipped ramrod secured by one thimble & iron pipe. CONDITION: stock appears sanded with some staining, light chipping, handling marks, small crack ahead of stock bolt, scattered handling marks & dings. Buttpad shows heavy deterioration & cracking. Metal is a dull gray patina with some pitting more heavy at rear of bbl. near nipple, scattered oxidation, handling wear & edge wear. Action appears functional when hand cycled. Bore shows pitting along its length but strong rifling. PROVENANCE: Estate of Groves Herrick. (01-28321/MJC). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
