LOADING REVOLVER. Cal. 32 Teat-fire. S# 6208. Bbl 2 7/8" round marked "MOORES PATENT FIREARMS CO BROOKLYN NY". Cyl is marked with "JANUARY 5 1864" patent date. 6-shot round front loading cyl. Action is without a hook extractor and has a spur trigger. 25% coverage scroll engraving punch dot background having straight line and fancy borders. Nickel finish with case colored hammer. 2-pc walnut grips. Estimated quantity of 30,000 mfg. 1864-1870. The 32 cal. teat-fire was a special cartridge designed by Daniel Moore & David Williamson. It was an attempt to circumvent the Rollin White patents held by Smith & Wesson. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: wooden case with red velour interior and cartridge block. Case holds 4 fired teat-fire cases and 10 loaded rounds. Case also holds a wooden handle loading rod. Case interior shows age related wear. CONDITION: revolver has 70% nickel finish showing light dark spots in areas of raised nickel. Grips show substantial wear with flattened sides. Sound action. Lightly pitted bore with sound rifling.
