Lot 3166 1818 DATED 1803 HARPERS FERRY PERCUSSION CONVERTED
RIFLE. Cal. 60. NSN. Originally made as 54 caliber rifle, this example has been reamed to 60 caliber smoothbore, otherwise still in original configuration with 36" proofed half octagonal to round barrel, half stock with iron rib and steel ramrod. Brass furniture & patchbox, lock has eagle with US in breast, "HARPERS FERRY 1818" vertically at tail. CONDITION: good overall, drum bolster is replaced, shotgun style hammer, re-blued barrel, mechanics strong, face of hammer smashed, clear smooth bore. PROVENANCE: from the PMRB Collection.
