Cal. 32 CF. NSN. Mfg. around 1884 in Iowa. Oct. 25.5" w/ possible S# "XVI" on bottom. Dovetailed front sight base with 3 drilled holes right nearby; later vintage elevator rear sight. Left side of action marked "D.S. Cole / Pt. AP'D FOR". Walnut stock set w/ ebony forearm tip & brass Scheutzen buttplate. CONDITION: metal shows traces of blue finish showing primarily brown patina with scattered marks. Wood has heavy varnish with cracks & dings. Bore shows good rifling. PROVENANCE: Estate of Groves Herrick. (01-28325/MD). ANTIQUE. $500-700.
