BLOCK RIFLE. CAL. 25-20. S# H44006. Oct. 28" bbl. w/ sporting sights. Rolling block action w/ patent dates on left side. Walnut stock set w/ black painted forearm tip & curved buttplate. CONDITION: barrel has brown patina with spots of corrosion all throughout. Action has faded case colors with brown patina & peppery oxidation throughout. Forearms has blistering finish with deep dings & marks. Buttstock has worn finish with sm. cracks at head of wrist along with large cracks around buttplate. Balance of rifling shows pitting; portion of bore in front of chamber shows significant cleaning of oxidation. PROVENANCE: Estate of Groves Herrick. (25-5679/MD). CURIO. $300-400.
