^Lot 3126 38 RF, REMINGTON NO. 2 SPORTING ROLLING BLOCK

RIFLE. CAL. 38 RF. S# 3883. Matching numbered oct. 26" bbl. Combination globe blade front sight & elevator rear sight; 2 3/8" dovetail on top of barrel cut removing large portion of Remington marks. Rolling block action w/ patent dates on left side. Walnut stock set w/ steel forearm tip, & curved buttplate. CONDITION: balance of metal is gray/brown patina with deep marks, area of blue remaining in front of rear sight & peppery oxidation. Lightly sanded & refinished wood shows sm. cracks & numerous dings. Good rifling with fouling & light pitting. PROVENANCE: Estate of Groves Herrick. (01-28349/MD). ANTIQUE. $500-700.
