Cal. 28-30 (28-30-120 Stevens). S# 9060. The 28-30 was a special order cartridge by Stevens starting in 1900. Half oct., half rnd. 28" bbl.; 4 holes for scope base. Blade front sight & Modern vernier tang sight. Walnut stock set w/ crescent buttplate. CONDITION: fair fading blue with streaks of brown & gray patina showing peppery oxidation throughout & deep marks on barrel flats. Fair fading case colored with brown patina & scratches. Wood shows large cracks, scuffs on wrist & deep gouges. Good rifling. PROVENANCE: Estate of Groves Herrick. (26-1125/MD). CURIO. $300-600.
