Lot 3056 INTERESTING 33 CF MARLIN 1895 LEVER ACTION RIFLE.
Cal. 33 CF (33 WCF). S# 167143. This rifle is peculiar in that the S# puts production in 1898, but the 33 WCF was not offered in the Model 1895 till 1912. The buttstock also has an interesting military style roundel stamp; possibly related to World War I purchases. The lightweight 22" bbl.. has as Marbles Sheard front sight blade & folding Lyman rear sight. Half length tubular mag. Walnut stock set w/ hard rubber buttplate & sling eyes on toeline & nosecap. CONDITION: fair fading blue mixing with streaks of brown patina showing varnish around forearm. Action has gray patina appearance with numerous dents. Sanded & refinished wood has dark varnish applied with numerous dings along with worn out roundel & worn finish at wrist. Good bore with strong rifling, frosting in grooves & dark spots of lands.
