Lot 3017 WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 LEVER ACTION RIFLE.

Cal. 32 WCF. S# 205982. Bbl. 24 1/4". Model 1892 mfg. in 1902. Top flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. information, with the cal. designation marked towards the breech. Upper receiver tang is marked with the model designation and patent information. Plain wood forearm and buttstock with crescent steel buttplate. Buttsock is wrapped in a leather cover marked "WHARTON SADDLERY CO./ MAKERS/ WHARTON, TEX." on either side. German silver blade front sight with semi-buckhorn V-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components exhibit a dark gray patina, with scattered spots and patches of pitting overall. Fair bore, exhibiting scattered patches of dark pitting and a bulge towards the muzzle, while retaining good rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage. Stocks leather wrap shows general overall wear and some spots of crazing, with some losses present at the rear.
