Cal. 32 WCF. S# 445106. Bbl. 24 1/4". Model 1892 lever action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1908. Top of the rnd. bbl. is marked with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information, with the cal. designation marked towards the breech. Upper receiver tang is marked "MODEL 1892" above the Winchester trademark logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the case colored lever and hammer, as well as the nitre blued loading gate. Plain wood forearm and straight grip buttstock with crescent steel buttplate. Dovetailed German silver blade front sight, with dovetailed semi-buckhorn V-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, consistent light surface oxidation, as well as scattered spots and patches of light to moderate pitting. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of mild to moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. (25-6527/MLW). CURIO. $600-1,000.
