Cal 38 S&W. S# 157217. Bbl. 4". Round blade front sight. Fixed u-notch rear sight. Matching numbers on frame, bbl. latch & cyl. 5-shot cyl. 4th Model 38 Safety Hammerless revolver. Reblue finish. Checkered hard rubber grips with matching scratch numbered right panel & S&W monograms. CONDITION: grips show a large chip missing at bottom of both panels, overall heavy worn checkering, some dings & handling marks. Metal retains 50% old reblue with a few notable patches of cleaned pitting, scattered fading to gray, areas turning a silver color, edge wear, further light pitting & some oxidation. Action appears functional when hand cycled. Bore shows scattered oxidation & some pitting but evident rifling. (25-4295/MJC). CURIO. $150-250.
