Mfg. 1985 (1967 to date) as an "in the white" action (blued lever, breech block and small parts) only, being #90 out of 100 for for the American Single Shot Rifle Association as the basis for a custom build. Because Ruger's address would not be on the barrel, the bottom of the action (opposite from the serial number) has Ruger's name & address plus the normal "RUGER No. 1" over chamber area. Front bottom of action has "A.S.S.R.A" over "ONE OF ONE HUNDRED" above the individual 1 of 100 serial number; this one is 90. Some have been seen finished with case coloring; almost any caliber is possible with the appropriate extractor. The action is complete with buttstock and forend attachment screws.
