Top of the bbl. is marked with Remington's 3-line mfg. and patent information, with the Remington trademark logo and cal. designation marked on the left. Left side of the receiver features a brass inlay marked "UMC/ U/ 25REM". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt assembly, which is polished in-the-white/ Grooved wood pump and plain wood pistol grip buttstock with period replacement clear synthetic buttplate. Aftermarket Lyman natural white beaded blade front sight with Lyman flip-up tang sight. Factory rear sight is absent. CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray and brown patinas, as well as scattered spots and areas of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Left side of receiver and action bar exhibit patches of moderate surface oxidation. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting consistent mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage. Right side of pump exhibits a small chip, with a small crack present on the left side of the wrist of the buttstock, stemming from the receiver. PROVENANCE: Estate of Groves Herrick. (25-5709/MLW).
