Lot 33 Willliam Henry B12 Custom Knife with oak inlay from Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels
Number 5 of 25 of these exquisite knives were made exclusively for SCI. Each piece is numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The knife features a frame in heat-colored 'Wave Mokume', inlaid with barrel oak used to age Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon. The blade is 'Copper Wave' damascus steel from Baker Forge with a core of VG-5. The one-hand button lock and thumb stud are set with citrine gemstones.
Wave Mokume is another William Henry exclusive material (patent pending) that fuses traditional metal forging with modern fabricating technology. This alloy features copper, stainless steel, and pure iron in a 55 layer billet patterned with our undulating Wave. When highly polished and heat colored, the iron layers take on deep browns, purples, or blues according to temperature and quenching technique.
