Lot 720 Lot of Five (5) Filipino and Afghan Knives
Lot of Five (5) Filipino and Afghan Knives: 1.) Filipino bowie knife, no sheath, 9'' acid etched blade with plants and volcanos, smooth bone handle; brass guard and head shaped pommel. Condition is good, showing age and wear. 2.) Stick sword with scabbard, 17.5'' four-sided needle point blade, inlaid horn handle, and bead embossed silver guard. Condition is good, showing age and wear, with a few dents to the guard. Scabbard is made from matching two piece horn with silver bolsters and end cap. Condition is good with a crack to the body. 3.) Afghan Choora type knife with scabbard, 9.25'' T-shaped unfullered blade, engraved and gold inlaid tang and guard; riveted two-piece bone handle. Condition is very good with forging marks and patina that shows a light recent sharpening. Scabbard has a wooden base wrapped with brown leather. Condition is fair showing age and wear. 4.) Filipino knife, 11'' blade with hooks and serrations, smooth round handle marked ''MADE IN VILLAGE''. Condition is good with patina spots to blade and toning to handle. Round tube scabbard fits into the handle. Condition is fair with a crack to one side. Owner's attached label identifies knife as brought home from Philippines. 5.) Broken Filipino machete, 17.5'' blade, and dark hardwood handle. Condition is poor, the blade tang has broken off inside the handle. Wooden scabbard is carved with a Filipino village scene on the right side. Condition is very good. Est.: $300-$500/lot.
