Lot of Two (2) Reproduction U.S. Short Swords: 1.) M1833 Artillery sword with scabbard, 19.5'' double edged blade, 25.25'' OAL. Marked ''UNITED STATES 1839 WS'' and ''(Eagle)N.P.AMES/SPRINGFIELD'' on blade. Pommel ''Shield and Eagle'' design on both sides and ''MS'' is stamped on the guard. Condition is very good with rust spots to both sides of the blade at the guard, and areas of old, dried grease. Unmarked scabbard has a black leather body and a brass chape and locket. Condition is very good with light creases to the leather and dents to the brass. Overall, a nicer quality reproduction. 2.) M1841 Naval Cutlass, no scabbard, 21'' double edged blade, 26.75'' OAL. Blade is unmarked. Brass grip has a flat hand guard with a U.S. Eagle cast into both sides of the pommel and a forward rolled quillon. Condition is good with scratches, finish loss, and rust patina to both sides of the blade. The grip and guard are good with light handling marks and toning. Blade fits a little loosely into the guard. Est.: $200-$300/lot.
