Lot 552 Lot of Two (2) U.S. Military Bayonets with Scabbards

Lot of Two (2) U.S. Military Bayonets with Scabbards: 1.) Remington Model 1917, 17'' blade is marked ''1917/REMINGTON'' on the left side; ''(Flaming Bomb)/U.S.'', ''(Eagle Head)11'' , and an ''X'' bend mark on the right side. Condition is very good, blade shows a dark color with spots of patina and old grease. There are some impact marks to the leading edge, otherwise the blade edge is straight with sharp point. Grips have an even dark color, with a gouge to the left side, and typical handling marks to the right side. Dark green leather scabbard is stamped with inspector ''E.J.B.'' on the rear body. Condition is good. 2.) Model 1942 16'' blade, marked ''U.F.H./U.(Flaming Bomb)S./1943'' on the left side; ''(Flaming Bomb)'' on the right side. Condition is good, the blade shows sharpening and scratches to the edge, and has a mottled dark color to both sides. The point is blunted. green fiberglass scabbard is marked ''U.S.(Flaming Bomb)'' on the locket. Condition is good, with wear and patina to the metal; handling marks to the body. Est.: $300-$500/lot.
