Lot 504 Colt U.S. Army Model 1909 Double Action Revolver

Colt U.S. Army Model 1909 Double Action Revolver, #32946, .45 LC cal., 5.5'' barrel, parkerized finish, walnut grips, standard blade front sight and grooved rear sight. Made in 1910. Receiver has a trace of the ''(Rampant Colt)'' on the left, with ''R.A.C.'' (Renaldo. A. Carr), and ''FB'' inspectors mark on the right. Butt is marked ''U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1909/No. /32946.'' Crane and receiver are both marked ''32946''. The ejector rod head appears to have been replaced with a smaller one. Barrel is marked ''COLT'S PT. FA. MFG. CO.HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.'' over patent dates on top, ''UNITED STATES PROPERTY'', on the bottom, and ''COLT DA .45'' on the left. The bore and rifling are good but frosted. Revolver in very good condition. Originally blued, now parkerized with 70%-75% remaining, and most of the wear at the grip area. Trigger and hammer were cleaned to white. Grips are well used, with a 1'' crack on the left panel. Action works properly and locks up tight. Bore and rifling are good but display scattered mild spots of patina and pitting. Est.: $800-$1,200. (C&R/PPT)
