German M-1879 Single Action Reichs Revolver by Dreyse, #4250, 10.55mm CF cal., 7'' round barrel has cannon-turned muzzle, tall integral sight, marked ''(German Imperial Eagle)'', ''10.55'' and ''4250'' at octagonal breech; round 6-shot cylinder. Solid frame has removable large-knob arbor pin; ''4250'', ''1882'', oval ''F.V. Dreyse/Soemmerda'' logo below safety lever at left. Large lanyard ring at oval butt is unit marked ''20.A.11.72''. Two-piece oil finished walnut grips. Condition is very good, retaining traces of original blue, else smooth brown gunmetal having fine markings/edges. Grips are sound and smooth, with a few chips at bottom-right. Action is crisp; clean bore shows very good rifling. Est.: $800-$1,200. (Antique)
