Indian Wars Period ''US'' Leather Belt and Brass Buckle with Civil War Era Leather Cartridge Box. Lot includes a period leather infantry belt with brass hardware and rectangular ''US'' marked cast brass buckle. Additionally, the attached cartridge box is Civil War era, marked ''US'', displaying a ''T.J. SHEPARD'' inspection mark. Cartridge case is marked at the front base ''J. DAVY & Co / NEWARK, N.J.'' with intact straps and brass hardware showing light verdigris. Belt is in good condition with age cracks and weathering. Buckle is very good with standard hook closure, showing dents, and scuffs consistent with service use. Cartridge box is very good with age cracks, loss of finish, and tight stitching.
