Winchester Model 1895 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine, #89726, .30-40 Krag cal., 22'' round barrel, originally with blued finish; replacement straight grip walnut buttstock, forend, and handguard. Pinned blade front and folding adjustable ladder rear sight. Mfg'd 1914. Carbine is in good condition, displaying a mixture gray/brown patina across the metal scattered light to moderate pinprick pitting primarily confined to both sides of the receiver top edges. Wood rates near fine overall with scattered small to medium sized dents and scratches, particularly at rear area of the buttstock. There are gaps and areas where the wood to metal fit is not great, where the buttstock meets the receiver. Markings are clear. Action is crisp and functions smoothly. Bore is good with visible rifling and scattered light erosion and general frosting. Est.: $700-$900. (C&R)
